26.08.2021

Ground was broken for the new Obchodná office building in Žilina on Wednesday, 25th August. The developer for this project is Reinoo, a company owned by businessman Milan Dubec. The eight-story building will have more than 13,000 square meters of leasable space and more than 500 parking spaces in an underground and an above-ground garage. Construction should be completed in the second quarter of 2023 at a cost of 18 million euros.

The building is located on Obchodná Street in the Vlčince district of Žilina and will become part of the Poštová business zone. Upon completion, it will become the second building in this zone, which will eventually comprise three office buildings and a parking garage.

“Construction of the Obchodná office building is a key project for Reinoo, which also reflects our approach to development. Besides quality architecture and modern technological solutions in its construction, a lot of emphasis has been placed by us on environmental aspects, greenery and public spaces,” remarked Milan Dubec, CEO of Reinoo, adding that the project was of great significance to the city, too. “The companies located here can create more than a thousand new jobs in value-added sectors.”

Obchodná‘s tenants will benefit from an innovative concept of office and retail space at the highest standard. Its dominant feature will be a rooftop leisure area with an incredible panoramic view, offering a place to relax and for organizing various events.

The building will also include underground parking and a parking garage. It will operate on the “smart parking” principle, where it will be available outside working hours to residents of the surrounding blocks, improving the shortage Vlčince has experienced with parking.

There are plans for new green zones and open spaces in the neighborhood of the building consisting of close-to-nature vegetation and pedestrian walkways made of natural materials and complemented by minor architectural elements. The intent behind these environmental settings is to strive for obtaining prestigious LEED PLATINUM and WELL PLATINUM certification.
