The foundation has announced #krajsievmeste, a grant program that will be providing €30,000 to support successful projects in Žilina.
Although this is the foundation’s first grant, businessman and developer Milan Dubec has long been involved in environmental projects, planting green zones and cleaning neglected parts of the city through his development company Reinoo. The focus will be on projects emphasizing public spaces, greenery and green solutions.
The grant program may include projects aimed at restoring sites that have deteriorated or been marginalized, revitalizing outdoor and other public spaces, beautifying children’s playgrounds and supporting educational activities aimed at environmental protection and mitigating climate change.
“Greenery and trees are of great importance to the city because in a few years they will be offering increasingly precious shade. We also need to revive places where people meet, work, and their children play,” said Dubec. “I care about Žilina. It is the city where I live and work, and where I meet my friends. I believe that, thanks to the support of meaningful projects, Žilina can offer young people many great opportunities for them to stay here, in a city that fully meets their vision of a high European quality of life.”
Organizations can apply for funding from the foundation between 24th January and 13th February 2022 on the foundation’s website, www.nadaciamd.sk, which also has complete information about applying and on the grant program.
It is just one way the foundation wishes to bring about positive change in the climate crisis, environmental protection and demographic trends, areas in which it is dedicated.
